The Estate

A private Lincolnshire estate shaped by heritage, restoration, land, and slow rural living.

Houldsworth Estate is a small private estate in the Lincolnshire countryside, centred around a historic farmhouse, traditional outbuildings, gardens, orchards, and open land. Our aim is to restore, preserve, and carefully develop the estate into a place rooted in craftsmanship, self-sufficiency, and rural heritage.

Our Story

Houldsworth Estate is a long-term restoration and stewardship project. The estate brings together a historic farmhouse, traditional brick outbuildings, productive gardens, orchards, and countryside accommodation. Rather than creating something new from scratch, the aim is to work with what is already here — restoring character, improving the land, and bringing the estate back into active use.

Every part of the estate is connected: the produce, the buildings, the gardens, the accommodation, and the wider landscape. The result is intended to feel personal, grounded, and deeply tied to place.

The Land

The estate sits within the Lincolnshire countryside, surrounded by open fields, quiet lanes, mature trees, gardens, and traditional rural buildings. The land is central to the identity of Houldsworth Estate — not only as a setting, but as the source of much of what we grow, make, preserve, and share.

Gardens & Orchards

Productive gardens and heritage orchards provide seasonal fruit, vegetables, and flowers throughout the year.

Countryside Setting

Open fields, mature trees, and quiet rural lanes create a peaceful backdrop for the estate.

Seasonal Produce

Everything grown and made on the estate reflects the seasons and the character of the land.

Restoration & Heritage

The estate is being restored with respect for its age, materials, and original character. Traditional brickwork, timber, natural finishes, and sympathetic detailing are central to the approach. The aim is not to over-modernise, but to preserve the feeling of a working English estate while making it useful, comfortable, and lasting for the future.

Every building has a role to play, from the farmhouse and gardens to the Old Bakery, the Coach House, and the wider estate outbuildings.

From the Estate

Our small-batch produce is shaped by the seasons and by what the estate can realistically provide. Preserves, honey, eggs, juices, vegetables, candles, and occasional limited releases are intended to reflect the land rather than become mass-produced products.

Everything is made in small quantities, with the focus on quality, character, and connection to the estate.

Stay at the Estate

Houldsworth Estate is also home to countryside accommodation, designed for quiet rural escapes and slower weekends away. The Old Bakery offers a private one-bedroom stay within a restored former estate outbuilding, while the Coach House is planned as a future larger countryside retreat.

The Vision

Houldsworth Estate is a long-term project. The vision is to create a place that feels rooted in heritage, connected to the land, and shaped by careful restoration rather than rapid development. A place where the buildings, gardens, produce, and accommodation all work together to reflect the character of the Lincolnshire countryside.
