The Old Bakery was once part of the everyday rhythm of the estate. Bread would have been baked here for the main house, the people who worked on the estate, and the wider community around it.

Historic details remain throughout the building. Inside are original bread ovens, including one with its original door still visible. Above, pulley fittings on the beam are believed to relate to the movement of heavy flour sacks during the bakery's working life. These details give the building a real sense of purpose and help tell the story of how the estate once functioned.

Rather than erase that history, the aim has been to preserve it and let the building continue to have a useful role — no longer baking bread for a working estate, but now welcoming guests into a quiet, private space with genuine provenance.

The estate is well placed for exploring the wider county. Lincoln Cathedral and the historic city centre are within easy reach, as are the market towns of Newark and Gainsborough, the Lincolnshire Wolds, and miles of quiet countryside lanes.
